Dr. Liang is a Professor of Surgery at Zhejiang University School of Medicine. He is also the President of the First Affiliated Hospital, Zhejiang University School of Medicine (FAHZU), and the leading expert at Department of Hepato-Biliary-Pancreatic Surgery and Liver Transplantation in FAHZU. He earned his M.D. and Ph.D. in Surgery and completed general surgery residency, hepato-biliary-pancreatic surgery and liver transplantation fellowship at Zhejiang University School of Medicine in Hangzhou, China. He was also trained as a Research Assistant and G.B. Ong Visiting Fellow at Division of HBP and Liver Transplant Surgery, Queen Mary Hospital, Hongkong University. Dr. Liang is a senior consultant surgeon who has expertise in hepato-biliary-pancreatic surgery and liver transplantation with a focus specifically on surgeries for locally advanced pancreatic cancer / perihilar cholangiocarcinoma and on complicated liver transplantations. He has been pioneered in multidisciplinary management of pancreatic cancer in China, and is also a pioneer of developing the Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) for pancreatectomy in China. His research interests mainly focus on new strategies for the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma based on tumor microenvironment, and multidisciplinary diagnosis and treatment of complex pancreatic diseases. Dr. Liang is F.A.C.S. He also serves as board members of IHPBA, A-PHPBA, ILTS, etc. He has published over 150 SCI-Indexed papers as the first or corresponding author.
